Mark Bittman makes a lot of good points.

But for there to be any meaningful change, government would have to represent the best interests of the people.

And so I am greatly pessimistic.

If the changes he calls for actually happen, we could all eat better food.

Tuscan Beans

I prepared dried great northern beans with Penzey's Tuscan Sunset herb mix.

I was amazed bordering upon stupification at how much more tender the great northern beans were compared to the dried black beans I recently prepared.

Boerner Brunch

We attended the special Valentine's Day Brunch at Boerner this morning.

Awesome food.

Excellent coffee from Koko's.

The carving station turkey with lemon-honey sauce was outstanding.

The deviled eggs and chili were great.

More good food than I could eat.
